2360 - NCD 2360 - Monoclonal Antibodies for Specific Cells and Subcellular Properties

Description:
  • Research tools for identifying various cellular properties

Abstract

USC researchers have generated monoclonal antibodies that recognize and bind to a single epitope on specific antigens for a variety of cells and subcellular properties. Their specificity will ensure more accurate results than their polyclonal counterparts.

Market Application

Visualization of key cell types and subcellular properties are essential for scientific research. A common method utilized for this is immunofluorescent staining with antibodies. However, many antibodies are polyclonal, which are lacking selectiveness of a single epitope on the antigen. This non-specificity can lead to off-target binding and compromise experimental results.
